Project: Advanced Communications and Information Technology Roadmap

Client: Arizona Department of Commerce

Following on Battelle’s work to identify technology core competencies in association with the State of Arizona, Battelle developed a roadmap for the advanced communications and information technology sector. The objective was to identify and reinforce the links between the state’s core research strengths and its industrial base. Battelle began by conducting an economic analysis to ascertain Arizona’s core industrial base. Subsequently, the team then analyzed and compared Arizona’s performance to several leading states and identified areas suitable for future investment. The study also included an inventory of existing and potential university-industry collaborations. Based on theses findings, along with multiple industry conversations and focus group discussions, Battelle was able to create a roadmap for the state and recommend future development initiatives.
